Meet Monks, a lovable 8-year-old pit bull with a heart full of affection! Monks was surrendered by his previous owner, but he hasn’t let that stop him from being an absolute joy. He’s incredibly social and has formed strong bonds with the staff, always greeting them with a wagging tail and a big smile.

Monks is well-behaved and obedient, always eager to follow commands, especially when treats are involved! His sweet and gentle nature makes him a wonderful companion for anyone looking for a loyal and loving dog. He loves spending time with people and thrives on attention and affection.

If you’re looking for a well-mannered, treat-loving pup who is ready to be part of your family, Monks may be the perfect match for you. He’s looking for a loving home where he can enjoy his golden years with plenty of belly rubs, treats, and love!

Here is what Monks foster says about him:

Monks is absolutely wonderful. He is one of my favorite fosters ever. He is a super chill little old man that somehow suddenly has hysterical bursts of puppy energy. (Then he takes a nap). He loves to snuggle on the couch and is actually a perfect lap dog size. He is incredibly friendly with everyone who comes into the house. He only barks when he wants to come back inside. When my dog is going nuts about the doorbell, or because I get the leash out, or because she is just insane, Monks just sits down and watches her like a little zen Buddhist. He would be totally fine as an only dog or with other dogs. I have not introduced him to my cat. He is totally fine with our pig though. I honestly can’t see him chasing anything.    I only have teenagers, but he has been completely fine with them picking him up and carrying him around the house, so I can’t imagine he would have an issue with smaller children.

He is not a big fan of the cold or the snow. He will go out when it is freezing, but he will look at me sadly first. When it was super cold last week I was putting a fleece and a coat on him. He was very tolerant of having both put on.

Monks loves attention from anyone and everyone, but unlike almost every other foster we have had he doesn’t get worked up if I am leaving the house. He doesn’t need to be with his person all the time so long as he is warm and comfy.
