I love getting pets and - you guessed it - snuggles!

Our two year old rottie boy LOKI joins us from NYC where he was surrendered when his owner was unable to keep him. Loki is an all-around great guy! Loves people, social with dogs and school-aged kids, and knows basic commands. Loves to go for walks, has appropriate house manners, and wants to be wherever you are.  Northern New England. Adopters in that area are encouraged to apply!  Cats unknown

Notes from short term foster: " . He heeled perfectly we went approximately half a mile where I only had to correct him twice. The leash was completely loose for the majority of the walk. We saw a few dogs along the way and he was interested but not obsessed. We also met a few people that I am friendly with and he was great with them and eagerly accepted pets and scratches. His leash behavior was equally excellent for every walk we took. Feeding time was a little challenging since he was so ravenous, he choked a couple of times. I switched to a slow feed bowl for his next meal and that helped a lot. Conversely, he takes treats by hand calmly and gently which was surprising after watching him eat from the bowl. Loki is very playful and he loved chasing the ball and kong in the yard. He would bring them back and willingly release when I asked for "drop" so he either was already taught that or is just a quick learner. He also repetitively does sit, paw, and down when asked and knows stay but we were working on that to get him better. Loki is very interested in the kitchen (counters and garbage can). We worked on "no" and "off" at first on leash and as he progressed, without the leash. He made a little improvement, but he still needs more reinforcement with the kitchen. Initially, the interaction between he and Luna was great. "
