Our year old O'Malley is a smart, energetic, and beautiful boy who would really love to find his perfect place in life.
O'Malley was originally brought to our shelter after he was found apparently living in a backyard, in freezing temperatures, without proper shelter or drinkable water. Despite this though, this handsome hunk is full of love and wants nothing more than to impress his humans. He has lots of energy, but is food motivated, and already knows sit and a few other basic commands. He also thoroughly enjoys butt scritches.
While at our shelter, O'Malley has shown playful interest in other dogs, and goes outside most days to play with his four-legged friends. He took a bit of time to warm up at first, but once he did, he became the life of the party. It is recommended he meet any potential doggy roommates prior to moving in together, just to make sure their personalities and energy levels are a good match!
Our dear boy does not come without flaws. Under some circumstances (especially when left to his own devices) he will resource guard his food bowl. While this is completely manageable to an experienced rottie owner, we plan to screen homes that have experience with this scenario. His behavior is not entirely unusual with the breed, and his actions were that of "protecting" vs. "aggressing". If you think you have what it takes to give this young boy a home -- please apply!
