Journey is the perfect gentleman. Originally from Mississippi, this boy has perfect house manners and is friendly with everyone. His foster family says that he's made himself at home, picking the softest dog bed near the wood stove. Journey has lived with kids under the age of 5, cats and other dogs and is wonderful with all.

But Journey is special. Read the notes from his foster family:

He is a great dog, but not for everyone. He would do best in a home where he can be with another dog that is of the same energy level, calm, or non-dominant. I dont think being a single dog would be right for him because of how much he gravitates to pack style living.

He is very very aloof. At times I wonder what's going on inside his head because he comes across so "emotionless", but for the right person who isnt super "mushy" and overly excitable themselves, he would be great.

I see him sitting next to a single person or couple who work, just want to come home and relax with a pup that doesn't want for more than dinner and t.v. time, then to curl up with you in bed for the night. (He gets VERY close, sometimes too close for comfort). If they want to go for a walk, great he's game. If they dont, he won't be climbing the walls with energy because he didnt get exercise.
Conversely, I could also see him with a single or couple who love running, hiking or camping. He has energy, and ability to do a lot.

I worry an adopter who doesn't have the desire or ability to be active with  Journey  in some way, because he doesn't have a negative behavior without stimuli, or ask for exersice, he wouldnt be potentially as happy as he could be.

He has a face that attracts people, but his "warm up or settle in" phase can be discouraging for an adopter who isnt ready to commit to a dog who acts like he couldnt care any less about them.

We are 3.5 months into having  Journey  with us. My biggest concern is  Journey  being adopted out, not returned, but also not being loved for his "specialness". He has a TON of emotion behind what comes across as very little. His adopter needs to have a desire to work with a dog who needs extra, but doesnt necessarily give it back, at least right away.
