Five year old Valentina was abandoned outside of the humane society after hurricane Maria and is homeless because of the dire situations in Puerto Rico. This one is at the Humane Society of Puerto Rico right now. She is 63 lbs, SF, UTD on vax, 4dx NEG, microchipped. She and is a lovely dog, very sweet. " the situation in PR continues to be dire, with much of the island still without power and many services inconsistent at best. So many business and homes have been destroyed that people continue to move away in search of new opportunities. We are facing an unprecedented uptick in dog abandonment, with owners even leaving their family pets locked inside abandoned homes to starve to death. We are also seeing dogs used to being fenced in, now sustaining serious injuries from being out in the streets dealing with traffic and being on the losing end. Also, the influx of abandoned intact animals has led to a huge rise in puppies. We are desperate to get as many off transported into loving homes outside of PR as possible."
