Hi I'm Rita! I am a young athletic Rottweiler (2.5 years) who came from a shelter in West Virginia. I am a lovely girl with a great outlook on life. I'm very dog social and love to rough house with one of my buddies in my foster home. I know sit but not shake or down. I walk pretty nice on a leash once you remind me to "heel". I just want to fit in and will try very hard to please my new family. My foster mom put her hands in my food dish and I just ignored her.

I do need a family who can make sure I get the exercise I need which is about 45 minutes of hard playing or running in the am and again in the evening. It's easy to give me a workout because I love balls! Balls! Who said balls!? Did I mention I love balls???! I have awesome house manners and am not destructive in any way. Once I get my work out I love to chill with my humans. I am very affectionate and loyal.  I have not yet been evaluated with children or cats.

Note from foster:  As you know Rita is a doll. There are a few things an adopter should be aware of since we don't know her history. I set things by my side door to go up to the shed in my yard or out to trash etc. When enough is there I take it out. This mini-obstacle course scared Rita a bit. It was as if she didn't like navigating small spaces. Once I saw that I actually made narrow spaces to get her used to doing it. Not a big deal as her only response was being hesitant. Just an FYI. When I took her to the pet store for a bath she initially barked at strangers. And at the dog tag engraving machine which was flashing different dog and cat images with various tags. It spooked her. Again no aggression just hesitancy. Whoever adopts her should actively expose her to novel situations after she is sufficiently bonded to them. She'll be fine! Oh and yes she would like a Kong jumbler ball please. Any ball is good but that is her favorite!!!!
