Bring Joy to your world. $25 adoption fee in December.

Abby is the most cuddly, snuggly dog I have ever had. She literally makes happy noises when she gets the persuasion to join you on the couch or bed for a cuddle sesh. She even prefers to be headfirst under the covers.

If she can't cuddle with someone she will find the softest/squishiest thing in the room to lie on. Cuddling and playing with her toys are close runners up to her favorite thing - food. She jumps out of bed in the morning, her whole body wagging and wiggling with excitement, and dances all the way to her bowl. After breakfast, she quickly slips back to her bed where you will always find her curled up like a donut.

She will need an experienced handler to help her work out a few quirks. She is very motivated to please but also easily excited and of course has a touch of stubborn. Her chase instinct is very strong so she can only be walked by someone who can manage that. She is medium-high energy.

Abby likes other dogs but probably has not been well socialized. She can get overly excited/not read cues well. However, she can also do very well with close supervision. (We dog sat a submissive female lab/pit mix and they even shared beds). Hopefully, this is something Abby can master with time.

She knows heal, sit, lie down, drop it, leave it, off, come, wait, move, ok, go to bed...and is crate trained. She is indifferent to kids- anyone who will play with her gets her approval. Because she is a lover and not a fighter, she is nervous around arguing/ horseplay and may let you know with some assertive barking. She will also let you know if anyone is coming in the house without your permission: however she is happy to welcome guests when you greet them at the door. No food/toy aggression with people.

Abby was found in NYC as a stray and has had at least one litter of pups. She was spayed in the fall and is now happy to focus on being a carefree pup herself. In a lot of ways, it feels like this is Abby's puppyhood. If you want a girl who loves hard and plays hard, this may be your pup.
